Introduction

Work Offline is a Mozilla Firefox extension which adds an icon
to indicate and switch online/offline mode on the status bar.

[Compatibility]: Mozilla Firefox 1.0, 1.5, 2.0, 3.0, 3.5, 3.6, 4.0
This extension only support official release builds.
This doesn't support nightly builds/alpha/beta/release candidates or
unofficial/optimized/third party builds.

How to use

This extension displays an icon below on the status bar
(An icon is shown on the add-on bar in Firefox 4).
It indicates online/offline status.
To switch online/offline mode, click this icon
or select "File" - "Work Offline" from the menu bar.

You can change the icon order by drag & drop
(except in Firefox 4).

And this extension can also change the icon.

This extension displays the offline message on the titlebar like Internet Explorer
(Turn the menu bar on in Firefox 4 to display the offline message).

From version 1.5, this extension can force online/offline mode when Firefox starts up,
and reload all tabs when Firefox goes to online mode.
You can change these settings on the setting dialog.

Troubleshooting

NEW! The status bar icon isn't shown in Firefox 4

The status bar has been removed and replaced with the add-on bar in Firefox 4.
The icon that was shown in the status bar is now shown in the add-on bar.
To turn the add-on bar on, click on the "Firefox" button,
go over to the "Options" arrow and check "Add-on Bar".

If the menu bar is shown, you should select "View" - "Toolbars" - "Add-on Bar"
from the menu bar.

NEW! The titlebar message isn't shown in Firefox 4

When "Show the offline message on the titlebar" option is checked
and the menu bar is not shown,
The offline message on the titlebar is not shown in Firefox 4.
To turn the menu bar on, click on the "Firefox" button,
go over to the "Options" arrow and check "Menu Bar".

NEW! I can't change the icon order by drag & drop in Firefox 4

You can't change the icon order by drag & drop anymore in Firefox 4.
Please install Organize Status Bar.

Other extensions may cause the problem with this extension.
Try deleting other extensions except this extension.

Nightly builds/alpha/beta/release candidates or
unofficial/optimized/third party builds may cause the problem.
Please use on official release builds.

I want to add a online/offline icon to the toolbar

Please install Toolbar Buttons.

I want to use a keyboard shortcut

Press Alt+F and then W to switch online/offline mode.
If you use keyconfig, use this code:
BrowserOffline.toggleOfflineStatus();
