Introduction

Work Offline is a Mozilla Firefox extension which adds an icon
to indicate and switch online/offline mode.

[Compatibility]

Mozilla Firefox 3.0 or later
This extension only support Official Release Builds.
This doesn't support Nightly/Developer Edition (Aurora, alpha)/Beta/Release Candidates or
unofficial/optimized/third party builds.

en-US, ja(ja-JP), ja-JP-mac(ja-JPM), tr(tr-TR), fr(fr-FR), it(it-IT),
cs(cs-CZ), de(de-DE), hu(hu-HU), sk(sk-SK), ru(ru-RU), pl(pl-PL), zh(zh-TW)

How to use

• Firefox 29 or later
• Firefox 4 - 28
• Firefox 3.0 - 3.6

Firefox 29 or later

If you just install, the icon is not shown.
To show the icon, click on the menu button and click "Customize"
(or select "View" - "Toolbars" - "Customize" from the menu bar).

And drag & drop "Work Offline" item to the place where you want to put the icon.

You can put the icon on not only the menu panel
but also the location bar or menu bar etc.

This icon indicates current online/offline status.

There is three ways to switch online/offline mode.

• Click the icon
• Click the menu button - "Developer" - "Work Offline"
  (or select "File" - "Work Offline" from the menu bar)
• Press the keyboard shortcut

From here, I describe each configuration of the option dialog.
To show the option dialog, click on the menu button, and click "Add-ons"
(or select "Tools" - "Add-ons" from the menu bar).

And select "Extensions" panel, click the "Options" button of "Work Offline".

This part is a description of "General" panel.

In "Icon" section, you can change the icon style.
If the theme has its own online/offline icons, they are used first.

Check "Use large icon in Menu panel" to use large icons
when you put on the Menu panel for Firefox 29 or later.

In "When Firefox starts up" section, you can choose the behavior
when Firefox starts up.

• This add-on doesn't manage online/offline status:
  Do not take any action of the three choices below.
  Firefox itself has a function to switch online/offline mode automatically
  by the network connection is available or not.
  This doesn't disable that function.
• Force offline mode:
  Firefox goes to offline mode when it starts up.
• Force online mode:
  Firefox goes to online mode when it starts up.
• Restore last online/offline mode:
  Remember last online/offline state and restore that state
  in the next time Firefox starts up.
• Show the offline warning in the notification bar:
  If Firefox starts up in the offline mode,
  this add-on displays the warning message in the notification bar.
  
• Show the offline warning in the alert pop-up:
  If Firefox starts up in the offline mode,
  this add-on displays the warning message in the alert pop-up.
  

This part is a description of "Control" panel.

In "Go offline when idle" section, you can set the behavior
that Firefox goes to offline mode automatically if the no operation state
of the mouse and keyboard (=idle) continues for a certain period of time.
If you want to use this function, check "Go offline when idle".

• Interval:
  You can specify the interval until Firefox goes to offline mode
  from no longer operates the mouse or keyboard.
  The interval takes a value in the range from 1 second to 1439 minutes 59 seconds.
• Go online when get back:
  Firefox goes to online mode automatically
  if the the mouse or keyboard is operated from idle (=get back).
• Only when a window is active:
  Firefox goes to online mode automatically
  when Firefox gets back and the window is active.

In "Active/inactive behavior" section, you can set the behavior
that Firefox goes to online/offline mode automatically if the window is active/inactive.

• Go offline when a window becomes inactive:
  Firefox goes to offline mode automatically if the window is inactive.
• Interval:
  You can specify the interval until Firefox goes to offline mode
  from the window is inactive.
  The interval takes a value in the range from 0 second to 1439 minutes 59 seconds.
• Go online when a window becomes active:

  This add-on displays the offline message on the titlebar like Internet Explorer.
  
  To turn the title bar on, click on the menu button and click "Customize"
  (or select "View" - "Toolbars" - "Customize" from the menu bar).
  And click "Title Bar" button of Customize window.
  
• Reload all tabs when Firefox goes to online mode:
  This add-on reload all tabs when Firefox goes to online mode.
• Open the option dialog by right-click menu on the icon:
  Enables right-click menu on the icon to open the option dialog.

If you just install, the icon is not shown.
To show the icon, click on the "Firefox" button,
go over to the "Options" arrow and click "Toolbar Layout"
(or select "View" - "Toolbars" - "Customize" from the menu bar).


And drag & drop "Work Offline" item from Customize Toolbar window
to the place where you want to put the icon.

  But you must turn the menu bar on to display the message on the titlebar.
  To turn the menu bar on, click on the "Firefox" button,
  go over to the "Options" arrow and check "Menu Bar".
  
  If you want to display the message on the titlebar without the menu bar,
  please install Display Window Title or UI Fixer etc.
• Reload all tabs when Firefox goes to online mode:
  This add-on reload all tabs when Firefox goes to online mode.
• Open the option dialog by right-click menu on the icon:
  Enables right-click menu on the icon to open the option dialog.
  

Firefox 3.0 - 3.6

This extension displays an icon below on the status bar.
It indicates online/offline status.

There is three ways to switch online/offline mode.

• Click the icon
• Select "File" - "Work Offline" from the menu bar
• Press the keyboard shortcut

You can change the icon order by drag & drop.
